An independent, unofficial guide to visiting Tofino, British Columbia: which beach or trail to pick, which boat tour to book, and how to build one, two or three days around a town at the end of a single road. We are not the District of Tofino, Tourism Tofino, Parks Canada or a tour operator, and we sell nothing. The whole guide starts on the Tofino city guide homepage, and every figure on the site carries the date it was last read.
Why This Site Exists
Tofino punishes a vague plan. Long Beach sits inside Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and needs a day pass, while Chesterman, tinwis, Cox Bay and Tonquin beaches sit outside the park and are free, and mixing the two up wastes a morning. The whales, the bears, Hot Springs Cove and Meares Island are reachable only by boat or floatplane, never by road, and no beach anywhere in the area has had a lifeguard since 2012. Rain falls most of the year, so the season decides a trip more than the day count does.
So every price, hour and rule here is read off the official page of the park, the district or the operator itself and stamped with the date it was read. Where the official source does not state a figure, the page says not stated instead of borrowing a plausible one.
Where the Information Comes From
Hours, fees, trail lengths and safety guidance come from official sources: Parks Canada's own Pacific Rim National Park Reserve pages, the District of Tofino, the District of Ucluelet, Tourism Tofino, BC Ferries, Island Health and the individual attractions' own sites (Ucluelet Aquarium, Tofino Botanical Gardens). Each page prints its source and the check date in its freshness box.
Tour prices, durations, ratings and review counts are the booking platform's own published numbers, read on the date shown on the card. Practical detail about town, which trail is stroller-friendly, where the free viewpoints are, what a park closure looks like, is cross-checked against several published sources rather than taken from any one of them.
What We Do Not Claim
There is no invented author here, no character who lives in a particular Tofino neighbourhood and no claim that someone from this site stood on a particular beach on a particular morning. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours, and we do not inspect trails, campgrounds or operators.
We also hold no bookings. Every Check Availability button hands you to the platform the tour is sold on, where the price, the terms and the cancellation window are theirs. Official sources, such as the Pacific Rim National Park pass system, Ucluelet Aquarium and Tofino Botanical Gardens, are linked plainly, without any tracking on the link, because buying or booking direct there is the only option.
How the Site Pays for Itself
Tour and activity links on this site are affiliate links: book through one and the platform pays us a commission, at the same price you would have paid going there yourself. That pays for the research and buys nothing else, not placement, not a rating, not the wording of a recommendation. Where the official source is the only sensible option, the page says so even though that link earns nothing.

Corrections
Trail conditions change with the season, park fees move year to year, and a beach can close overnight for wildlife reasons. If a number here is out of date, write to us with what you found and when you were there. A corrected figure is worth more than a defended one.
