Tofino Camping: The Three Real Options

Green Point sits inside the Long Beach Unit of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, the only campground of the three actually on the ocean side, a short walk from Long Beach. Parks Canada's own camping page lists 94 drive-in sites with electrical service (120V/15A and 30A), flush toilets and showers, 20 unserviced walk-in sites with flush toilets and cold water taps, one group walk-in site and one oTENTik, a soft-sided tent on a platform. The campground runs 1 May to mid-October, with a 7-night maximum stay.

Reservations go through the Parks Canada Reservation Service at reservation.pc.gc.ca or 1-877-737-3783, and 2026-season bookings opened at 8 a.m. Pacific time on 29 January 2026, so a summer weekend needs booking as soon as the calendar allows.

Bella Pacifica Campground, 400 MacKenzie Beach Road, sits on MacKenzie Beach a few minutes' drive from downtown Tofino and runs 27 February through 31 October, per its own site. Site types include beachfront small camper and tent sites, ocean-view RV sites in first and second row, ocean-view van and tent sites, and full-hookup RV sites, each with a picnic table and fire pit. Amenities: three washroom buildings with flush toilets, coin-operated showers and laundry, Wi-Fi hotspots, firewood and ice for sale, and leashed dogs allowed.

Crystal Cove Beach Resort, on the same MacKenzie Beach stretch, is a step up from tent camping: 34 log cabins including beachfront units, 10 glamping sites with fifth-wheel RV trailers, and RV camping sites, spread along about one kilometre of shoreline. Neither property's own site publishes a fixed nightly rate for this guide to print.

The site rate is only part of the bill. Here is what else can come out of your wallet on a Tofino camping trip, using the fees each operator or the District has published.

Park entry at Green Point. Green Point Campground sits inside Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. This page's own sources do not confirm whether the park day-use fee applies on top of a paid campsite there, so we will not guess. If you need the figure for the rest of a park visit, the adult day pass is US$8.69 (C$12.25). Confirm entry requirements for campers with Parks Canada before you go.

Extra people and dogs at Long Beach Golf Course Campground. The 30A full hook-up RV site is US$53.23 (C$75) a night plus 5% GST, and that covers up to 4 people and 2 vehicles. An extra person beyond four costs US$3.55 (C$5) a night. A dog costs US$3.55 (C$5) a day.

Beach pay parking. If you are staying at Bella Pacifica or Crystal Cove on tinwis (MacKenzie Beach) and drive to a different beach for the day, District of Tofino beach pay parking applies at the beaches near you and elsewhere. Rates are US$2.13 (C$3) an hour or US$10.65 (C$15) a day, enforced daily from 8 am to 11 pm year round at Tonquin Beach, tinwis, Chesterman Beach and Cox Bay. The fee covers the beach lots and marked roadside parking, not the campground's own site. Bring cash or a card ready at Long Beach Golf Course Campground for the extra fees, since they are charged separately from the online reservation total for the other two campgrounds.

All three of Tofino's campgrounds sit close to an exposed Pacific-facing shoreline with a genuine earthquake and tsunami risk from the Cascadia Subduction Zone. The District of Tofino publishes an official Tsunami Safety Guide and Evacuation Map identifying hazard zones and safe assembly areas, and Parks Canada posts its own guidance for Green Point specifically inside the park. This page prints no exact assembly point for any single site, since these maps can be revised, so check current signage on arrival and ask a park or campground attendant where your loop's evacuation route leads.

Green Point's 94 drive-in sites, 20 walk-in sites, one group site and one oTENTik go through the Parks Canada Reservation Service, and a summer weekend can book out within hours of the season's reservation window opening. If Green Point shows no availability for your dates, the two MacKenzie Beach campgrounds run their own separate booking systems and are not tied to the federal reservation calendar, so a date that is gone at Green Point can still be open at Bella Pacifica or Crystal Cove Beach Resort. Long Beach Golf Course Campground, inland between Tofino and Ucluelet, is the third fallback and the one campground on this page with a published nightly rate.

None of the three shares availability with the others, so check each one directly rather than assuming a single search covers all of them. Booking two or three options at once and cancelling the ones you don't use is a common workaround for a tight summer week, as long as each property's own cancellation window allows it.
